STANLEY CUP PLAYOFF PRIMER FOR THWE EAST


EASTERN CONFERENCE
Islanders clinch; Blue Jackets, Canadiens tied for second wild card
There are seven days remaining in the NHL regular season, and the race for the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the Eastern Conference is extremely tight. The Tampa Bay Lightning have clinched the Atlantic Division, Eastern Conference and Presidents' Trophy, and the Boston Bruins, Washington Capitals and New York Islanders have also clinched berths. The Carolina Hurricanes continue to hold the first wild card in the conference and the Montreal Canadiens and Columbus Blue Jackets are tied for the second wild card.

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING (59-15-4)
Where they stand: 122 points; clinched Presidents' Trophy, Eastern Conference, Atlantic Division
