PITTSBURGH AT
VANCOUVER
WHEN: 10:00
PM ET, Saturday, October 27, 2018
WHERE: Rogers Arena, Vancouver,
British Columbia
The Pittsburgh Penguins didn't forget to pack their offense during their
four-game road trip, scoring three goals in Toronto before doubling the effort
at Edmonton and tallying a staggering nine times in their last outing in
Calgary. The Penguins look to bring out the broom in a bid to finish their trek
through Canada in style on Saturday when they visit the Vancouver Canucks at
Rogers Arena.
"It's on me, too, I don't have any goals," Patric Hornqvist said
about the team's lack of secondary scoring prior to playing the Alberta
representatives. The 31-year-old Swede was quick to change that narrative,
scoring two goals and setting up another in Tuesday's 6-5 overtime win over the
Oilers before tallying twice two nights later in a 9-1 romp over the Flames.
While the Penguins have skated to three straight victories, the Canucks have
answered a three-game win streak with just eight goals during their last five
contests (2-3-0) heading into the opener of a four-game homestand. "To get
guys coming in and out of the lineup early in the season, it is tough,"
forward Bo Horvat said. "But at the same time, we've got to find a way to
win games."

ABOUT THE PENGUINS (5-1-2): Evgeni
Malkin notched a pair of assists against the Flames to extend his point streak
to six games, during which he has scored two goals and set up 10 others. The
former Hart Trophy winner had an assist on Carl Hagelin's third-period goal
during Pittsburgh's 3-2 overtime loss to Vancouver on Oct. 16 to increase his
point total to 11 (six goals, five assists) in 15 career encounters versus the
Canucks. Fellow forward Jake Guentzel scored against Calgary and also tallied
in the most recent contest with Vancouver.
ABOUT THE CANUCKS (6-5-0): Coach
Travis Green said rookie Elias Pettersson (concussion) and fellow forward Brock
Boeser (groin) are "pretty close" to a return to the ice Saturday for
a Vancouver club that has been besieged by injury. Pettersson led the Canucks
with five goals at the time of his injury against Florida while Boeser has
blasted the Penguins, including a goal just 34 seconds into overtime earlier
this month. The 21-year-old Boeser also had three goals and an assist in
Vancouver's 4-2 win over Pittsburgh on Nov. 4 and tallied twice in a 5-2
victory on Nov. 22.
OVERTIME
1. With Sven Baertschi (concussion)
sidelined, fellow LW Darren Archibald was recalled from Utica of the American
Hockey League on Tuesday and scored two nights later in a 4-1 setback at
Arizona.
2. Pittsburgh G Matt Murray's two
career wins versus Vancouver came via shutout.
3. The Canucks have yielded the
first goal in eight of their last 10 games.
PREDICTION: Penguins 4, Canucks
