The Steelers added to their coaching staff on Tuesday with
the hiring of Adrian Klemm as assistant offensive line coach.
Klemm, who steps into the role that was held by Shaun
Sarrett before he was promoted to offensive line coach, comes to the Steelers
from the college ranks where he has nine years of experience. Most recently he
was the associate head coach/run game coordinator/offensive line coach at UCLA
from 2012-16.
Klemm started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at
Southern Methodist (2008), before becoming the offensive line coach/recruiting
coordinator there from 2009-11.
He doesn’t just bring coaching experience with him as he
played six seasons in the NFL. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in
the second round of the 2000 NFL Draft with the 46th pick overall. He spent
five seasons with the Patriots and was a member of the three Super Bowl
championship teams. He finished his playing career in 2005 with the Green Bay
Packers.
Klemm, who is from Los Angeles, played college football at
the University of Hawaii.
