The Pittsburgh Steelers sent their best back to the city to get a quad
injury evaluated. It isn’t considered serious, but it certainly isn’t a small
concern.
Antonio Brown hasn’t practiced the last two days of training
camp, and then, suddenly disappeared on Thursday. After not being on the field
to an undisclosed injury, the team sent him back to Pittsburgh for further
evaluation.
Head coach, Mike Tomlin, wouldn’t say much about the injury.
Brown isn’t expected to miss much time, but the injury is reported to be a quad
strain. Luckily, this is something that will naturally heal itself, but to get
sent for further evaluation means there’s something to stress over about the
situation.
Tomlin addressed the media and confirmed that Brown is
taking the injury day-to-day, but isn’t expected to miss much time. ESPN’s Adam
Schefter followed up on these reports, claiming Brown shouldn’t miss more than
a few days.
This is still concerning for the Steelers and their fans.
It’s never easy to see someone miss practice, and knowing it’s due to an injury
without much detail makes it even more worrisome.
For someone like Brown, though, every NFL media member will
be all over the injury. Therefore, if Schefter is saying it’s only a few days,
then chances are it isn’t as serious as not being in Latrobe suggests.
Looks like we can let the Madden curse stories begin. If
this is as bad as the great video games has to offer for the wide receiver,
we’ll take it. Brown likely wasn’t seeing much of the first preseason game as
it is, and now, he may not touch the field against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Only sad part is Brown won’t be on the field for the
Steelers’ “Friday Night Lights” practice at Latrobe Memorial Stadium.
