The Raiders are not the only NFL
entity headed to Sin City here soon. The league announced on Wednesday that the
2020 NFL Draft will be held in Las Vegas.
“NFL commissioner Roger
Goodell announced Wednesday that Las Vegas will host for the 2020 draft — the
first time the city has ever hosted the event,” the league announced, via its official website. “The decision
comes a year and a half after the league approved the Oakland Raiders
relocation to Las Vegas.”
It’s not yet known where the
event will be held. Though, one could easily conclude that it will take place
at the soon-to-be built Raiders stadium right off the Las Vegas strip.
The NFL Draft has taken on a life
of its own in recent decades. What started out as a minor event with little
fanfare has turned into a three-day extravaganza broadcasted on multiple
networks.
Having Vegas host the annual
event will only add to this.
