NFL WEEK 15 PICKS AND PREDICTIONS
With three weeks remaining in the regular season, playoff races are
heating up. With certain results, more postseason spots will be clinched.
LOS ANGELES
CHARGERS AT KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (-3.5)
The Chiefs (11-2) are trying to lock up the AFC West and a
first-round bye. While the Chargers (10-3) are excellent, it’s a big ask for
them to come out to Kansas City on a short week and beat the Chiefs, in the
cold, at Arrowhead Stadium. Especially without Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler.
Pick: Kansas City 34, Los Angeles 27
HOUSTON TEXANS
(-6) AT NEW YORK JETS
The first of two Saturday games is between Houston (9-4) and
New York (4-9). The Jets are playing out the string while the Texans can clinch
their division with a win coupled by an Indianapolis loss. It’s tough to see
Houston losing in this spot.
Pick: Houston 30, New York 23
CLEVELAND BROWNS
AT DENVER BRONCOS (-3)
A week ago, it seemed like the Broncos (6-7) would need this
game for their playoff push. Now, it’s about whether the Browns (5-7-1) can
shock the world by running the table and putting themselves in the mix for the
AFC North crown. It’s unlikely, but it’s possible if Baker Mayfield and Co. can
win in Denver.
Pick: Denver 23, Cleveland 21
ARIZONA CARDINALS
AT ATLANTA FALCONS (-8.5)
Who would watch this game? Atlanta (4-9) has no reason to
care. The Cardinals (3-10) aren’t good enough to win without major help. Just
an ugly game.
Pick: Atlanta 27, Arizona 20
DALLAS COWBOYS AT
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (-3)
A very good game rife with playoff implications. If the
Cowboys (8-5) can win their sixth straight game, they will clinch the NFC East.
A win for the Colts (7-6) would move them much closer to a potential wild card
berth, although a loss would all but doom them. A huge contest for both sides.
Pick: Indianapolis 28, Dallas 24
DETROIT LIONS AT
BUFFALO BILLS (-2.5)
Why would you do this to yourself? However, has to be said…
Josh Allen would be the best running back the Lions have had since Barry
Sanders.
Pick: Buffalo 19, Detroit 16
GREEN BAY PACKERS
AT CHICAGO BEARS (-5.5)
The Bears (9-4) have the league’s best defense. The Packers
(5-7-1) are essentially playing for nothing, and the offense hasn’t looked good
in months. Chicago can clinch the NFC North on Sunday afternoon, and that’s
exactly what is going to happen.
Pick: Chicago 26, Green Bay 19
MIAMI DOLPHINS AT
MINNESOTA VIKINGS (-7)
The Vikings (6-6-1) are now firing people because they
aren’t anywhere close to what expectations had them at. Meanwhile, the Dolphins
(7-6) pulled a miracle on Sunday and remain very much in the AFC playoff
picture. The loser, on the other hand, is in deep trouble.
Pick: Minnesota 29, Miami 24
OAKLAND RAIDERS AT
CINCINNATI BENGALS (-3)
The Bengals (5-7) are insanely cooked, although they put up
a fight last week. The Raiders (3-10) shocked everyone by beating the Steelers
on Sunday, but can they win twice in a row? Ehhhh….
Pick: Cincinnati 27, Oakland 23
TAMPA BAY
BUCCANEERS AT BALTIMORE RAVENS (-8)
It’s hard to see the Buccaneers (5-8) winning this game.
Baltimore (7-6) has to win, it has a punishing defense and the Ravens can just
run the ball for days. Plus, the tilt is in Charm City. If Tampa Bay pulls off
the upset, it’ll be because the defense steps up.
Pick: Baltimore 31, Tampa Bay 20
TENNESSEE TITANS
AT NEW YORK GIANTS (-2.5)
The Titans (7-6) have to win this game, but don’t sleep on
the Giants (5-8). New York has played much better as of late, and with Saquon
Barkley running all over teams, Tennessee might have real problems in this one.
Pick: New York 30, Tennessee 26
WASHINGTON
REDSKINS AT JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (-7)
Welp, Colin Kaepernick just won his case.
Pick: Jacksonville 13, Washington 9
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
(-6) AT SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
The Seahawks (8-5) can clinch a playoff spot by beating the
49ers (3-10). Considering Seattle waxed San Francisco only two weeks ago, it’s
hard to see much changing when a postseason berth is on the line.
Pick: Seattle 34, San Francisco 24
NEW ENGLAND
PATRIOTS AT PITTSBURGH STEELERS (NO LINE)
This is the witching hour for the Steelers (7-5-1).
Pittsburgh has to win or it faces the real possibility of not making the
playoffs. On the other sideline, New England (9-4) is coming off a ridiculous
loss that should have the Patriots quite focused leading into the week. And, if
they lose, there’s a real chance they play on Wild Card weekend.
Pick: Pittsburgh 41, New England 37
PHILADELPHIA
EAGLES AT LOS ANGELES RAMS (-9)
The Rams (11-2) are going to take out all their frustrations
on the Eagles (6-7), who basically eliminated themselves from playoff
contention on Sunday with their loss to Dallas. It’s hard to envision a
scenario where Philadelphia makes this a tight game come the fourth quarter.
Pick: Los Angeles 31, Philadelphia 21
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
(-6.5) AT CAROLINA PANTHERS
This was going to be one of the best games of the season
only a month ago. Now? The Saints (11-2) are trying to secure home-field
advantage, but the Panthers (6-7) are playing for absolutely nothing after
losing five straight.
Pick: New Orleans 27, Carolina 22
LAST WEEK: 10-6
SEASON: 128-77-2
