WHAT IF THE ANTONIO BROWN SITUATION COULD BE FIXED

The Pittsburgh Steelers are desperately trying to figure out the locker room and media issues within the team. But while many say they need to remove a player to make it work, maybe they don’t.

Sources brought the world inside the life of the Antonio Brown situation, opening many eyes as to what’s really happening in Pittsburgh. Enlightening the educated guesses of what brought down the Steelers’ 2018 season.

What we learned was this isn’t just Antonio Brown. Yes, much of it is, but the other two pieces involved in the puzzle were never helping the situation.

Mike Tomlin not discipline Brown’s antics created a monster. No player should feel as if it’s okay to be late to meetings or not stay with the team during training camp. Brown should have the attitude that he’s capable of doing whatever as long as he plays well on Sundays.

Ben Roethlisberger needs to stop talking as much as the rest of them. No quarterback should be speaking publicly about his receivers unless he’s praising them. Criticism is a significant part of leading and teaching, but keeping it within the family keeps the drama away.

Despite all of this, though, the Pittsburgh Steelers could be fixed. Everything can go away, and really, it’s simpler than it sounds. On paper at least.

Tomlin needs to discipline. Brown should never believe he’s more important than anyone else on this team. Because really, he’s not. The only player that you remove from this roster and they’re no longer Super Bowl contenders is Ben Roethlisberger. It’s not because of talent, but unfortunately wide receivers don’t win championships, quarterbacks do.

Ben needs to stop talking negatively to the public. You’re the most significant voice on this team, use it to show support. Teach behind the scenes, praise in the public, we don’t need to hear that James Washington should’ve dove – we were all thinking it.

Finally, Brown needs to become a team player. It’s about being reliable off the field and showing your dominance on it. Yes, raising five kids and being the best wide receiver in football is a full-time gig, but it isn’t an excuse to put yourself on a pedestal above everyone else.

Football is a team sport, and to fix the Steelers, it’s going to take a team effort. The players want Brown back, Ben Roethlisberger wants Brown back, and whether the fans do or not, the team isn’t any better without him around.

It’s time to figure this out and move forward. The Pittsburgh Steelers look like they’re getting further away from a championship, but really, they’re still on the edge. All the need to do is fix the family drama.
