CHICAGO -- Jonathan
Toews had three goals and two assists, Patrick Kane added
two goals and three assists, and the Chicago
Blackhawks handed the Washington
Capitals their season-high fifth consecutive loss with an 8-5
victory on Sunday.
Brandon Saad and Alex
DeBrincat also scored and Dylan Strome added
an empty-netter as last-place Chicago stopped its own five-game slide. Collin Delia made
34 saves, including impressive stops on John Carlson and Tom Wilson in
the second.
Washington's defensemen accounted for each of its five goals
while star forwards Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny
Kuznetsov were kept off the scoresheet. Carlson scored
twice, Dmitry Orlov and Matt Niskanen each
had a goal and an assist, and Brooks Orpik got
his second of the season.
Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby allowed
four goals on 11 shots before he was replaced by Pheonix
Copley 2:30 into the second.
ISLANDERS 3, DUCKS 0
UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Cal
Clutterbuck scored twice in the first period and Robin Lehner made
19 saves as New York downed Anaheim for its fifth straight win.
The victory was the 15th in 18 games for the Metropolitan
Division-leading Islanders, who have surged past Washington and Columbus over
the past month.
Clutterbuck opened the scoring at 4:50 of the first with a
power-play goal.
Clutterbuck scored again from a nearly identical spot midway
through the first for his sixth goal of the season.
Leo Komarov scored
his sixth this season with 29 seconds remaining in the second period.
CANUCKS 3, RED WINGS 2
VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Elias
Pettersson had a goal and an assist in his return from a knee
injury, and Vancouver beat Detroit.
The 20-year-old rookie, who ran his point total this season
to 44, missed five games after suffering an MCL sprain against Montreal on Jan.

scored for Vancouver, and Brock Boeser had
two assists.
Frans Nielsen and Thomas Vanek scored
for Detroit.
Jacob
Markstrom stopped 35 shots for the Canucks, and Wings
goalie Jonathan
Bernier had 28 saves.
COYOTES 4, MAPLE LEAFS 2
TORONTO -- Vinnie
Hinostroza scored in the third period and Arizona beat slumping
Toronto.
Clayton
Keller, Mario Kempe and Lawson Crouse also
scored as Arizona won for the fifth time in its last seven games (5-1-1). Darcy Kuemper stopped
25 shots. The Coyotes improved to 8-0-1 in their last nine trips to Toronto.
John Tavares and Travis
Dermott had the goals for Toronto, which has lost seven of its
last 10.
HURRICANES 7, OILERS 4
EDMONTON, Alberta -- Nino
Niederreiter and Lucas
Wallmark each scored twice to lead Carolina past Edmonton.
Andrei
Svechnikov had a goal and two assists, and Brock McGinn and Jordan
Martinook also scored as the Hurricanes snapped a two-game
skid. Sebastian Aho and Jaccob Slavin each
had three assists, and Petr Mrazek stopped
17 shots.
Leon
Draisaitl had two goals, and Brandon
Manning and Zack Kassian also
scored for the Oilers, who have lost two straight. Cam Talbot gave
up three goals on 15 shots before he was replaced by Mikko
Koskinen, who had 15 saves.
