The Pittsburgh
Steelers are armed with lots of draft picks and sound ready to
use them.
Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said Sunday that the
team could either take 10 players or would be happy to entertain trading up
using those picks as ammo.
Steelers are open
for draft-day business. "When you have 10, you have more ammunition to
either take 10 players or use ammunition to trade up," General Manager
Kevin Colbert said from the NFL owners meetings.
The notion of trading up has to be a tempting one from the
Steelers' perspective. Right now, they’re not even the betting favorites in their own division after
the departure of Antonio Brown coupled with a very active offseason from the
Cleveland Browns. Adding an impact player in the draft could help them change
the narrative and provide a long-term option in an organization that has lost a
lot of its key young talent, especially on offense.
